Jonathan for EU-Africa summit in Brussels
President Goodluck Jonathan is scheduled to travel to Brussels on Tuesday April 1, as the head of Nigeria’s delegation to the Fourth European Union-Africa Summit scheduled to open in the Belgian capital on April 2, 2014.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the summit has “Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace” as its theme. Read more….
NANS protest LASU fees in Lagos
A protest was staged at the government house, Ikeja by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday over the increasein fees of the Lagos State University (LASU).

FG to retire 1,050 civil servants in 3 weeks
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Bukar Aji says that about 1,050 civil servant employed in service illegally will be retired in the next 3 weeks.
This information was disclosed at the ongoing 60th anniversary celebration of the Nigeria Public Service Commission in Abuja.
Alhaji Aji said that the screening done by Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) discovered that the 1,050 civil servants were supposed to have retired from the service long before now. Read more….

Irate youths burn Churches in Katsina
Angry youths on Monday went on rampage and attacked two churches, St Theresa Catholic Church and Celestial Church of Christ, in Funtua town of Katsina State.
It was gathered that the youths burnt the Reverend Father’s apartment at St Theresa Catholic Church along Katsina road in Funtua Municipal.
The rampaging youths also brought out some property of Celestial Church of Christ at Tudun Malamai and set them ablaze. Read more….
