The Ogun State government does not seem to be in a hurry to lift the suspension on the two monarchs who engaged in a public dispute recently.
The state governor, Ibikunle Amosun said the suspension stands until the recommendation of the panel set-up to look into the matter is made public.
According to reports, the monarchs, the Olu of Itori, Oba Fatai Akamo and the Baale of Lapeleke, Chief Adisa Akinremi, penultimate week exchanged blows at a police station at Itori following a disagreement over a local dispute.
Both monarchs were later questioned and detained at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran in Abeokuta, the state’s capital.
During the weekend, Governor Amosun said he had already received the report of the panel saddled with the responsibility of looking into the case and assured the public that the fate of the feuding monarch will be decided upon soon.
