Fire guts Pastor Chris’ Christ Embassy Church in Lagos
A branch of Christ Embassy Church located at Oregun was razed by fire on Tuesday evening with properties worth millions of Naira destoryed.
A power surge in the building was said to have caused the fire which started at about 6.30pm.

Jonathan wants review of Nigeria’s education policy
A review of Nigeria’s 40-year-old education policy has been called by the nation’s president, Goodluck Jonathan with the aim of ensuring speedy transformationof the education sector.
The call was made during the opening of the 20th Nigerian Economic Summitwith the President adding that the review was to determine the policy’s relevance and fine tune its adaptability to national objectives. Read more….

Borno Spends N27m On Insurgency Victims
The Borno State Special Emergency Relief Committee said on Tuesday that it had spent N27 million on the provision of relief materials to victims of Friday’s attack by insurgents.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that inhabitants of five communities located close to Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri were displaced after the attempted attack on the barracks by insurgents. Read more…..
Delta assembly elects new Speaker
Delta House of Assembly on Tuesday elected Mr Peter Onwusanye, (PDP Oshimili South) as its new speaker.
The election of Onwusanya was sequel to the resignation of the former Speaker, Mr Victor Ochei, as contained in a letter read by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr Basil Ganagana. Read more…..
